It's that time of year again where the tax man ows me lots of money. With the tax free threadhold set at $18200 last year i should get even more (I ******* love it here)

Anyway looking at buying another car.

The 300zx has always cought my eye but I've never driven one.

Obviously I now theres a twin turbo and a non turbo version and you probably always want the the turbos tbh however there are a few fully loaded non turbo ones with low Ks around for ****** all

So apart from the obvious on the owners club about buying one what else is there I should look out for.

Has anyone got one driven one.

Would you you go fully loaded clean non turbo over tired basic twin turbo?

Not that it really helps you guys but I have around 5 to 6k to play with non turbos startinging at $3950 in SA with rego. I was thinking about importing as there cheap enough to buy its the import cost that kills you not to mention regancy and rego for getting it on the road.

So opinions ideas advice please

Cheers and beers

My friend had a twin turbo, very fast but they require a lot of attention to keep them in good running condition. Saying that though this can be said of any turbo car. One thing I will say is the turbo engine bay is very tight.

I had a TT last year, and tbh running costs, maintenance etc are imperitive that they are kept upto scratch. I understand that they need servicing every 4000miles due to the nature of them. As has been said the engine bay is tight, to do a cambelt change is an engine out job. Rust on the rear arches is very common on these. Also check boot area for any damage (its a high powered rear wheel drive after all, and getting onto 20 years old).

If I had the chance again, I'd probably get a immaculate n/a over a tt. Mine only lasted on the road for two months even though it had full service history with (it had two folders full of paperwork for everything ever done it and had a full service (receipted) a week before I picked it up. Unfortunately the oil pump failed causing the bottom end bearings to go and cracking the block. I did think about finding another engine to put in but after working it out financially it wasn't worth it. By the the time I had found another engine, and got everything changed on it (waterpump oil and filters, plugs, cambelt etc etc) and then the cost of actually getting the old one out and the new one in it would've cost in the region of £2500

I always loved the look of these cars and for me it would still be the TT for me, i loved the fact that as retro as it was nissan still pulled off a good looking car not keen on the suspension though the suspension i believe was a little lacking especially the rears, but all in all the cookie crazyness and retro styling were what attracted me, good luck with the buy

Love them, they look great standard, however they are very easy to spoil the looks and.riun a good car.

I would go for a turbo otherwise you'll always be wanting more power.

Dude a decent Supra here will set you back around $16K!!!!! that is able to be registered and not defected track slag only, a tt 300zx on the other hand is about $6k

Id love another supra but out of my price range for now afraid. However the next best thing is a Soarer tt. There about 5 to 6k but over 200ks in most cases.

Skylines pop up every now and then at a reasonable price but have a reputation worse then a Corsa or Saxo here, "fully sick bruv" "just waiting for mate"
