The garage I have taken mine too have rung me to say they can't get the crank pulley off! Have had to order a new pulley from Lexus! Bad times!

hmmm if they cant get it off, why did they order a new one? how are they going to replace it if the old one wont budge, or are they cutting the old one off?
think they need a longer breaker bar. we had to use a 7 foot long piece of scaffolding on mine so that shows how much leverage can be needed.

They have said they have had the radiator and a/c panel out and used all sorts to try get it off including heat!
I can only imagine that they will cut it off. Genuine part was only 50quid. So not too bad.

They're not tightening it instead of loosening it by any chance are they? Is the threading reversed on it?

Maybe they mean what they say and actually cant get the pulley off (rather than cant get the bolt undone/out) as getting pulleys off is sometimes a right pain too, and if i recall the holes in a 2JZ front pulley aren't threaded so that don't help either.

Oh and using the breaker bar and starter method is excellent way of undoing crank pulley/damper bolts but you must have facilities to do them back up to the correct torque or the bolt will be for ever coming loose.
