It seems the modifying god are hiniting at plans for my future already...
Looks like their may be a little K11 in my future but it won't be staying OEM,

A colleague may be selling a K11 Nissan Micra and considering it needs a bit of work and may even need urgent selling i may be inclined to pick this little "Noddy car" a steal... ie: sub 750euro's, including road tax and NCT(MOT) and as its a coleagues I already know it has a few extra's like power steering and electric windows...

Seing as this little car is only a 1L i will most definitely be making a few upgrades especially because it needs to be able to run me up to the local Tesco's in a hurry but take the missus to work and back with enough grunt to over take the snails on our roads...

So i'm planning an engine swap with the use of a 4EFTE 1300 16V EFI Turbo from a Starlet GT or Glanza Turbo, considering the numerous searches done on line and not finding a single mention of this being done before i may be looking at a challenge with this one but if i get it right it may prove to be quite a nice cheeky little combination.

Any advice and or comments would of course be welcome, and if any of you know if this has been done before please let me know where and when so i can look a few things up

I hate to say but I've seen one before as the old 1.3 micra has the same engine block but has the Nissan head on it . I had a starlet gt before and was planning to do it my self but found out someone else did it. Didn't do it in the end. Easy transplant tho if you do add the ef engine go for the 1.6.

the idea I had was to use the old rav4 so it would be 4x4 and some came with the 1.6 ef . Only was thinking of 4x4 it to get the power down in stead of just spinning the wheels up as there very light . If I can find the k11 I've seen Il upload a photo of it.

Thanks guys, would be interesting if you could find it Iceman
Thanks for the suggestion Colin, but think im gonna stick with the 1.3l tubby, after all this is gonna be my wifes little run about so its got to be drive-able for her, i think 140 ponies from a 1.3 is plenty considering the IS doesn't make much more in its 2.0 in-line 6 form, plus it'll still be great fun for me on the odd occasion that i do drive it, only thing now is to find a good engine looking for the complete little unit including gear box loom, tubby and ecu. But will keep you guys in the loop

Have you thought about a QG18de swap from the Primera? Loads of those knocking about and they are cheap as chips. All alloy engine and designed for low down torque, so perfect for a little car like the micra. I'd imagine it weighs about the same as your standard micra engine.

Not that I've been looking into it...
