I've nearly finished Version 2 of my centre stereo surround.

No clock again, but the new boost controller is now in there.
No centre vents, however I have matched up the the heater unit behind and made a vents out the top of the new cubby hole. Some very fine silver mesh is going in so wont look like a fugly random hole when am done.
USB into the stereo in the cubby hole.
Able to hold any phone or tablet, portriat or landscape from eg Galaxy S2 to a 10" tablet.
I have put in a permanent charger for our samsung tablets.
I tried to make a bit of a sun visor for the stereo but glare is still a problem. Never mind, it looks good.
The second stereo is in there as a dummy unit at the moment. We are buying a dvd player/pop out screen for in there.
I wired in some blue LED's into the illumination live so it comes on with the headlights.

Still in primer as the last component for the mods is a dual USB adapter to go beside the boost controller still hasnt arrived in the design that I ordered. I want a very specific one with a flat face and a chrome ring around it. Also the usbs will be able to power more hungry devices like tablets.

The whole thing will be a Gunmetal grey to titanium silver, and the interior of the cubby hole is going to be a light grey flocking.

I got around to wiring up the A-pillar 3 gauge pods aswell since theyve been relocated from the old stereo surround.
Also bought a digital volt gauge so all is matching up now.
The turbo timer was a bit loose so thats fibreglassed back in never to move again lol.

So after all this, I have to get the dremel out again and make it into a double din stereo as I have bought a new toy!

She's now torn it apart again after we decided to go double din, am sure she'll update the thread to that effect when she's finished, lol.

If everything seems fine, you've probably not grasped the gravity of the situation.

Ive made it into a double din, but also been working on everything else at once today and have a big pile of things to paint building up. I havent installed the double din in order to test fit as Mr Hollowpoint has the engine in bits and garage in a mess lol.

Perhaps tomorrow Smile

Thanks, I'll share how I do it, no problem. It's taken trial and error in the past but I've got quick at it and figured out whats best to use now.

I'd get on with finishing it. It was glorious sunshine and I meant business... now looks like its going to rain! ... Every blinkin' time!

Both my new and old stereo surrounds newly painted. I'll sell the old one.

New surround has my not so good first attempt of flocking inside the cubby hole lol. Its in the car now and I love it!
