Sparkystav You could just cheat and run some wires from the stalk to your own relay then directly to the headlights. That way you can get you MOT then sort it out properly.

That is what I was hoping to avoid but I think it will be the way to go. I do not know which wires I need to use from the stalk, though I may be able to figure it out if I try hard enough! I am thinking that the problem is around the steering column, so could I just run new wires from the stalk to the stock light relay under the bonnet? I need to get identifying which wires and relays I need to be working with, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the stalk or the whole light system?

Sparkystav http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_9...=tshwl-rhd - Indicators

http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_9...ode=hl-rhd- Headlight control

http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_9...-11672.pdf - Connector for them both

Them two should help

This looks like very useful info, but the links are broken!

I've no idea how old my post to them links are as I know it's been shut for ages.

Takes up loads of space on my iPad now having the manual on there.

A couple of years, I think. Just seemed to be exactly what I need.

Thanks Dave, I have the pdfs, but there are over 2000 of them and I have no idea which one is the one I need, and don't really have time right now to check through every one.

Ok so I have found this: (if you have the files it's r-05.pdf)

But I think I am a little out of my depth here!

Also, confusingly the wire that is spliced into the red/blue wire on the stalk is connected to "30" on the relay. My limited knowledge of relays tells me that "30" should be the output? I may be barking up the wrong tree! I think I will swap out for another stalk just to sure it's not that before I attempt (and probably fail) to rewire the lights completely.

Relays can be used as 30 as the input and 87 as the output as it still does the same job Smile

Thanks. I figured that a little while after writing this, I guess the 85 and 86 can be swapped too!

I am now having doubts about if this relay is the problem as it seems to be linked to another relay, which is in turn linked to another two, which then go off to, I think, the Clifford alarm!

Ooh

Have you tried activating the various outputs on the alarm

Sounds like you may be able to turn the lights on from the remote Smile
