Get TapaTalk 4 for 64p this week only
For some reason version 4 doesn't seem to be able to access PMs, and keeps re-notifying you off multiple threads as unread because it can't synchronise the 'notifications' page of the app.

21-07-2020, 11:46 PM #11I think a lot of the issues I have using Tapatalk 4 on this forum is that the version of the software OJC was setup with is out of date now. Other forums I use that are using up to date versions of the app work perfectly.

Oh I dunno. It all works just fine on my phone. Galaxy s3 has no problems accessing pms or keeping track of notifications. User mod required?

The latest version of the Tapatalk plugin was released back in 2012, I just recently installed it on our zx forum. Not sure it made any difference to tapatalk core functionality though, just things like push notifications etc.

22-07-2020, 01:03 AM #13Nah I had it on my S3 too and hated it, not because it didn't work, just because the layout was clearly meant for bigger screens. Obviously not everyone will feel the same about layout, so if you're fine with how it works/looks on your S3 it must be to your taste I guess?

22-07-2020, 01:21 AM #15I only came to that conclusion because when I first signed in on TT 4, it said the forum was using an out of date API (I think) but I didn't get that message on any of the others. I've got all 5 forums on identical default settings, apart from the Aria PC forum which supports push notifications.

22-07-2020, 01:30 AM #16Yeah I got that same notification from TT4 on our zx forum. That was the main reason I updated it to the latest version. Push notifications were working fine with TT2 though I must say, it was just TT4 that complained about it.

On another note Rabster, do you want me to quickly knock up an OJC logo for the App?
I'll need to find out what size it is first, but it wont take 5 minutes to make one. Just something basic, white OJC text over a dark background with the rising sun faded behind?

22-07-2020, 02:24 AM #17Just realised that the issue I'm having it probably because within the app, there is no 'notifications' tab with the forum. All the others have it, but it's either disabled or not supported on the version we are using.

EDIT: I can confirm it has fixed the duplicate alerts issue :thumbup:
