My Black 202 Supra
My Black 202 Supra
Cheers buddy.
Andy... Your always welcome at mine.
Just grab your gear and come to mine for the weekend... I'll get the food and cider in
Update time.
More bits coming together now..
Intercooler kit and 3" piping
Oil feeds and return pipework...
Lexus LS400 4 pot calipers, discs pads and braided lines...
And lastly a front strut brace to stiffen up the chassis
(The bottom one)
With the days getting longer... Its nearly time to start the build
Nice! Good to see your not just doing the engine
After trying a few cars with 4 pot setups... I think its best to upgrade from the original J spec twin pots.
Its alright going fast as long as you can stop as well
Will probably upgrade these next year... But will do for the initial setup.
Finally delivered AEM FIC6 Fuel and Ignition controller for mapping when built.
And also the Viper 5904 alarm will be fitted as has now been removed from the IS200
A couple of quick updates.
I'm trying to make the car more mine... As it was heavily modified when I purchased it.
So I have fitted some Axis 5 spoke wheels and a 3" catback exhaust (to help flow when turbo is fitted.)
Couple of quick pics...
Axis wheels before being cleaned up...
All polished ready for fitting...
Fitted to the supra
And whilst I was at it... I fitted the new front strut brace... As I don't think its going to fit when the turbo is fitted
And also the 3" exhaust fitted and parked up with the GS
Then yesterday I had Dan Harris over to give the Supra the detailing session and paint correction it's been needing for a long time.
Work carried out..
Washed with Poorboys (Slick and Suds),
Hand dried to see paint imperfections (a lot of them),
Clay bar'd the entire car,
Then about 4 hours of using the DA and paint correcting the badly finished paint after it's respray 2/3 years ago. Lots of over spray and badly patched up paint,
Paint was then sealed with Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection and left 40 mins to cure,
Hand polisheded off the EGP,
Poorboys Nattys Blue wax applied and left for 25 mins to cure,
Hand polished again,
Meguairs ultimate liquid wax applied to the wheels and polished off,
Meguires Ultimate Extreme tire gel
And lastly the windows were cleaned with Autoglym Fast Glass.
A lot of work... And I'm extremely happy with the results...Dan has magic fingers and is an extremely hard worker and a perfectionist. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my car.
Anyway... Here are the pics.
Before DA... (Paintwork in a really poor condition... No clarity and no depth to the paint)
After DA 1st cut... Paint smoothed, clarity improved and more shine and depth added.
1/2 the car now been DA'd... No protection or wax's applied.. Thats the shine from pure paint
This is the last pic I have of the detailing day.
This is the Autoglym EGP curing over the freshly DA'd paint.
Just to give a rough time scale... Dan arrived at my house around 8:30/9am and the car was finished around 6:30pm.
Was a hell of a day... And by the end Dan looked exhausted... But we were both happy with the outcome.
Completed pics will be up after I'm back up to full strength after my knee surgery on Friday 13th March.
Thanks for looking
looks a great job Dan really good work!
