IS200 supercharging kits
IS200 supercharging kits
Hey guys,
This is the kit some people know about (from Facebook). It's been in development for some time now, various parts of it or all of it are installed on over 60 cars now and any development issues have been worked out.
It includes almost everything you’ll need to supercharge the IS200.
This kit, plus pipework, intercooler, supercharger and a FCD (black box) is all that it takes.
The kit includes:
1. CUSTOM DESIGNED CRADLE – we modified the original TTE design, so it uses a different, more easily adjustable tensioner with added additional position for different size belts. This cradle is redesigned, so it works without an issue with OEM or aftermarket exhaust manifolds – the vertical removable bar is replaced by a mounting point at one of the manifold studs. Welding a front mounting point on the aftermarket manifold is still required, but with the added rear mounting bracket it’s much more stable. Made from steel, powder coated in a textured black finish. Every single cradle is manually adjusted and tested to fit perfectly without force – all bolt holes line up and all bolts can be tightened by hand.
2. WATER PUMP PULLEY – any size you want, usually 130mm, 145mm and 150mm are in stock. These are for 5PK belts (like the original TTE kits). CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminium, lightened, anodised, CNC engraved. Custom sizes available at no added cost. Various colours and custom engravings available at no added cost, just a couple of weeks waiting time.
3. SUPERCHARGER INLET & OUTLET - made from aluminium, CNC machined flanges from 10mm aluminium plate, 76mm inlet pipe, 57mm outlet pipe. Threaded bypass valve mount on the inlet. Powder coated in a textured black finish.
4. CABLE OPERATED BYPASS – we start with a brand new Mini Cooper S bypass valve, throw away half of its bits, modify the others on the CNC mill, add our own custom components, assemble and calibrate everything. This is the single most crucial component to supercharge the IS200 properly.
5. BELT TENSIONER – adjusted by turning it with a ¼” ratchet with one hand. Much easier than pushing it with a pry bar etc.
6. 5PK BELT – in a suitable size for the pulley you require.
7. STAINLESS STEEL BOLTS – every single bolt and washer you need to mount everything, including the supercharger itself. No expense spared on these.

It depends on pulley size...
At 130mm you don't. The OEM ones cope just fine and that's what TTE setup uses. Depending on the condition of your supercharger, you may get away with using the OEM ones even at 140mm pulley size (worn chargers boost less, so with 140mm you'll get similar boost to 130mm pulley with a new charger). This should give you around 205 bhp on a healthy engine.
At 145mm and 150mm pulley size (about 0.5 bar or 7-8 psi) you need 1zz injectors. They are a direct fit without additional mods. Also at this pressure level a full decat is highly recommended - either going for an aftermarket manifold and full decat exhaust or just gutting the cats and running this way. This setup should return up to 240 bhp on a healthy engine.
At higher pulley sizes/boost levels you'll need much more mods - upgraded exhaust manifold and full exhaust are highly recommended. The fuel system has to be upgraded - either even bigger injectors (2zz) or a fuel return line and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. This requires some kind of fuel management - either a good piggyback or a standalone ECU. Water/meth injection is also a good idea here, because when the charger is spun at such high rpm it tends to get really hot and intake air temps rise. This is a bit extreme though, because even with all this, you probably won't reach 280 bhp, more like 260. Again, we're talking healthy engines here, good compression and flow.
