What material for a lip and spoiler?
Thinking of getting a front lip for my car. Its a Greddy style lip and is made of FRP but I remember reading either on here or the other forum that certain materials crack and the paint cracks also but which materials should I go for? normal fibreglass, FRP, or PUF(?), ABS, etc etc???
so PU is the better option in general then as its more durable but still flexible? As for the greddy kit....the lip I can get hold of is a replica but a high quality replica but is made of FRP....worth it or not? Maybe I could arrange a group buy?
Oem bumpers are made of polyurethane, which I think is the material of choice.
I think FRP and GRP are more susceptible to cracking even in light impacts aren't they?
Yeah the trouble with fibreglass (FRP and GRP) is that if you scrape a kerb accidentally it is a lot more likely to crack than a plastic lip, which will generally just bend.
