Phones - HTC Touch Pro2
nothing,it does it already.the only thing you cant do is have 2 apps open at the same time but you can have multiple pages open on safari
Yep I asked that in another thread and it seems the music thing was sorted on the iPhone - but you still can't do anything else at the same time, it's just music and something else.
Glad things are going well with the touchpro though, my only problem with it is that WM 6.5 is still pretty antiquated.........I'm looking forward to WM7 though as that should move the game on considerably
Ah ok, sorry for misunderstanding. Sounds like my main point was right though, i.e. no proper multi-tasking on the iPhone, but they've provided some sort of exception for music ?
It was annoying that I couldn't easily multitask my Opera on my Touch Pro2 (whereas I could with anything else), but now that seems to be sorted with the 9.7 beta.
My Touch Pro2 is still running WM 6.1. The update to 6.5 has just come out, but I've seen mixed reports so far, so am not going to rush into that. The HTC TouchFLO 3D interface does mean you can avoid a lot of the WM clunkiness though.
Ahh right, makes sense I guess, although I've not heard much bad about 6.5 yet, just that it isn't enough of a step up when compared to android/iphone (but I think that's where 7 will step in)
Is yours one of the handsets that will get a free upgrade to 6.5 then?
Yeah when they released the Touch Pro2, WM 6.5 wasn't quite there but they said there would be a free upgrade. It's just come out, in both a generic HTC version and a specific Vodafone version. From what I can see so far, the HTC upgrade might well be better in that it seems to be based on a slightly later 6.5 build, and also Vodafone has a not-very-nice colour scheme that they foist on users. The Vodafone warranty is voided if you use the HTC ROM version, but then you still have an HTC warranty so I'm not sure it's much of a problem.
I'll keep an eye on that and probably go to 6.5 at some point. As you say, it's a bit of a step on from 6.1 but it's not really an iPhone/Android "killer", that should be WM 7 (though of course iPhone and Android will move on too !).
On further looking into the Windows 6.5 update, I've found a whole world of fun of ROM-flashing available at the XDA Developers website, which gives a lot more options in terms of running generic HTC ROMs rather than just Vodafone's version.
Looks like some cool stuff there, so I'm going to read up on it and see what I feel brave enough to do lol.

Yeah they've got stuff for everything, that's where I was looking at the stuff about the Hero Rom - just don't have the ***** to do it yet!
XDA Developers seems to be for all HTC phones, so that includes their Android phones as well as Windows Mobile ones.
I'm definitely going to go down the track of flashing my ROM, I just want to read up a lot about it first so I know exactly what I'm doing and how to undo it lol.
How slick does the droid look? I really hope it makes it over here, as it does look like an awesome all round package........
This could be the android handset that really makes it take off!
