Any particular reason for this?

Are Lexus/Toyota more conservative with their offsets than others (mainly the Germans)? Reason I ask is that often when you look at a Lexus straight down the side, the wheels look recessed into the arches (even on the IS-F) whereas when you look at a Merc or BMW, the wheels always look nicely flush with the side of the car.
Any particular reason for this?

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
