toxo Getting the car really hot if it's got no CAT should make absolutely sod all difference. Getting the manifold and midpipes hot does nothing to aid combustion (and it only alters backpressure slightly through convection which is irrelevant on an FI engine) so once your engine is up to temp it should be the same after a gentle drive as a hard one. The reason for getting the CAT hot is that the platinum inside it will only react with the CO2 past a certain temperature.

On an engine with no CAT you should see minimal difference between it being warm and really hot. However if your lambda sensor is on the way out then it may make a difference as they have to be mega hot in order to function correctly as well, which is why modern ones have heaters in them!

Anyway back on topic, I hope it gets through!

Hmmmm i wonder why mine failed then went through whilst very hot? never know now because it has all changed!!

russelllinn Any news Moley? Hope you're having a bit more luck today.

Have you changed anything since last years MOT and if so could you possibly put it back to that for the time being?

Just went from a Blue Flame cat back exhaust to a HKS silent high power.

Had a look at Redx , but dont know what kind to get.
The options are injector cleaner, fuel system cleaner and octain booster

The sensors on the IS200 do have heaters in them.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
