I haven't read the whole thread, but as far as I understand only your CO was over the limit? If so, it should be a piece of cake if you just want to pass your MOT.
In Sweden a super common solution to lower the CO dramatically is to just pop down to the nearest petrol station and give the car like 20-30% E85 (bio ethanol fuel), that more or less eliminates the CO emissions completely.
Do you have E85 fuel in Britain?

Thanks for the offer mate but I cant see that helping, I would have thought the induction kit would give you better air flow
we do in some places mate, though i think theres only about 5 or 6 places in the country

There are a few Morrisons that do E85. Given that Morrisons are Scottish, there might be one not a million miles away from you Moley ? Could be worth calling them and asking.
