I have no idea myself about the technicalities/safety of this, but Patrik was only suggesting putting a small amount of E85 into an existing tank of unleaded, not filling the car completely with it :

P.Lindblom In Sweden a super common solution to lower the CO dramatically is to just pop down to the nearest petrol station and give the car like 20-30% E85 (bio ethanol fuel), that more or less eliminates the CO emissions completely.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

ormi You can't use bioethanol E85 in a car with a fuel system designed for existing petrol engines.
Trust me, it's not a problem at all. I've driven my IS200 on 50% E85 many times and a lot of people do as it's cheaper than petrol, more environmentally friendly and can give your car a bit more power Smile

The corrosive effect is of course an issue if you run your car on pure E85 for tens of thousands of miles.

If you google "co etanol" you get 1,2 million results, suggesting you should add some E85 to lower the CO emissions for your MOT
