polishing your engine block???you sure?lot of stripping to do that!most people just paint coz its cast iron, doesn't come up too well also gets very hot so it won't stay shiney for long(if you can get it shiney).
the block is the big black bit!
You could try cleaning up the cylinder head Dean, the bit that's on the top underneath the engine covers. That's aluminium, but just cleaning it would make it look better. Trouble is, it's quite messy under there, and doesn't look that elegant with the covers off.
Very nice Dimis, you'll soon have the polishing bug
On the charger mate give it a good rub over with a green brillo pad (like you use to do the dishes?) if you have one first, as it'll get rid of a lot of the oxidisation on it and give it a good base for the polishing :thumbup1:

i made a shiney engine cover for mine(bandits template) as has been said its not nice with out the covers.when you fit the induction kit you loose the big air box which is a cover as well.so fitting a induction kit makes it sound better but make the engine bay look messy.

steviewevie Just to clarify, I think you mean one of those green nylon scouring pads, right ? Not a metal brillo pad ?
Yep, very nice solution :thumbup1:
Actually that would be a pretty easy thing to get made Dean, you just need to make a cardboard template and get it to the exact right size/bolt-holes etc, and then take it to a metal fabricator to cut out of some nice shiny steel
