Thing is a lot of manufacturers are opting for teh dual mall FW's. There must be a very good reason to do this.

Dual-mass flywheels should in theory be smoother, since they dampen vibration. Maybe they're fine on most cars but just a few have problems with them ? I dunno.

Smoother but shorter lifespan perhaps ? Do manufacturers perhaps bank on them working well for the warranty period but then perhaps failing after that earlier than a solid flywheel would ?
