quick question
next year im looking to turbo my is300, im not looking for massive boost but i want to upgrade my internals just to be on the safe side, does anybody know if its true that that the turbo supras had forged internals or not? as ive come into possession shall we say of a set of con rods and pistons and a crank lol

01-11-2016, 09:49 AM #3I am only guessing but I doubt they're forged, but will be better internals as Stav said. They will be designed for turbo installs, i.e. probably lower compression ratio pistons.

I was/am looking at 400bhp turbo conversion with no internal mods and running on same compression ratio!

01-11-2016, 10:12 AM #4I don't think there is a lot of difference to be honest, maybe the crown as Steve says, although the GTE block has a thicker head gasket to help with compression ratios. The main difference is that the GTE block has oil squirters to keep things cooler, I have read about people in the US running 600bhp without probs on stock NA internals.
