yeh i know what u mean mate but i've had a couple of moments when the back end has twitched and i've corrected it but this was nothing compared to anything like that mate, this was a major off and well to be spinning out of control basically over a motorway is just plain scary....i really dont wanna experience that again.

Saw a car this afternoon with it's front about 5ft in the air after sliding straight into a post - sorry to say it but it was quite an amusing sight! Must have happened at very low speed as the car was barely damaged, the post had given way and bent slightly and the car had simply slid up it!

Not sure if that makes any sense, should have taken a pic Blush

We get a lot of threads on the MR2 forums around this time of year from people killing their cars in bad weather. There's an overwhelming theme running through all of them - people are driving well outside of the road conditions. Basic logic says that you shouldn't ever be driving in a situation where you can't regain control of the car if you lose it. Problem is, it usually takes people an accident or two to realise where the limits of control actually are. It's not bad driving (and that's not what I'm saying here) it's just not driving to the conditions.

Glad you and the car are OK, and hope you learn from the experience.

@ widnes: It happened just past the northendon exit mate

Bought my new battery on friday and fitted it the same day. My area is badly iced up and seems like there aint been any gritters out either. Anyway, I was going extremely slowly earlier today and turned into the road before my street and its that slippery that the car spun again lol...didnt hit anything tho...this was all at about 10mph lol...

Where on earth are the stupid gritters this year? If anyone went on the M60 yesterday they can confirm at what a mess it was near trafford centre. Is there a way to complain that the gritters aint been out?

they put out on the news that the council guys were happy that they had done the best where they were concerned with the gritting this time. think someone should show then the roads where i live in West Berks and from what i can see alot of other places too. Let them fall on there bums trying to de ice their cars on an ice rink. Think they forgot to do anywhere else only their own streets
