Hi guys wondering if you guys would be able to lend some advice.

My cousin has a V reg S IS200 and wants to fit his 'Ripspeed' headunit in place of the original (I know some of you will say don't do it with that headunit - but each to there own! :FishSmile

http://gallery.xpowerforums.com/data/500...006101.JPG

He's asked me to help him and I said I'll get some advice before we tackle it. So firstly I need to order a bezel to fit a single din headunit.. which is the best one to go for?

Secondly, I assume being an S model it doesn't have an amp behind the glove box, so which ISO lead do I need? and where do I attach it... Are there any other bits I need?

Your help is much appreciated!

You should be able to find one of the Autoleads fascia kits on eBay. The one kit can be made up as either single-DIN or double-DIN. With the single-DIN version you end up with a little pocket underneath it.

For the ISO lead, it's a Toyota MR2 ISO lead that you need, that will do the job, since as you say, the S model has no amp so it's a lot simpler, just a standard Toyota lead.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.

Thanks for the prompt reply mate. I can't remember if I read somewhere that there was a better finish on another fascia than autoleads?

With the ISO lead, is it a case of simply unplugging them out of the back of the OEM headunit, into the MR2 lead and then into the Ripspeed headunit? Any chance of some links to the best places to get this from?

Only other thing I can think of is that we need to wire the handbrake feed to somewhere to allow the navigation and dvds to be changed on the move...

I too have the S model. Its so easy to swap its unreal, take old one out plug new one in. If you get the ISO lead then it is simply plug and play. Big Grin

This is the sort of lead that you'll need to plug it in - linky

Not sure about different finishes on the fascia adapters, that may be true. I used the Autoleads one and sanded it down, then painted it.

Don't know for sure, but I doubt there's any difference in those leads for different prices. It would probably take a *much* more expensive lead with oxygen-free cables, gold connectors etc, to have a chance at making a difference, and even then I doubt you'd be able to notice any difference whatsoever with OEM speakers and a £200 head unit. Just IMHO.
