Well not been on for a while, been doing overtime again 12-16 hour days for the last two weeks

But the cold made me give up this morning, got to the m-way, and my heater was still not working, and the car started to overheat, checked coolant seemed ok, but took it back home and put more in, and loads of anti freeze, but still no difference

probally all the pipes are frozen or something, so given up going in for overtime today.

oh well

Think you done the right thing as you dont want to damage your car.
It could be the thermostat not working did you have anti freeze in the car before hand.

Just made it into work..

Does sound like the thermostat mate, but you might have to bleed the water system due an air lock after you've topped up the system?

The other thing you could try is to flush the heater matrix out with a hose, remove the pipework that goes into the car from the engine bay, put a hose onto one of the pipes in the engine bay and run clean water through the heater? you'll be surprised at how much dirt comes out of the matrix?

just had another go at it, everything topped up, and seems fine now, took about 30 minutes for the heaters to go slightly warm lol, but not overheating anymore

something tells me a got a leak somehwere, as when i opened the coolant, this morning at 6am, tons and tons of steam came out, which to me showed a lack of coolant, but it to dissapear within 2 weeks something not right there. MOT at the end of this month, not looking forward to that at all
