I like the section on emissions, now I am sure if I have a receipt saying my car has a 1990 engine I can ignore the emissions test. Happy days.

I have a copy of this image with the correct path highlighted, and attach it to the inside of my windscreen when I check my car in for its MOT. That and the page that says not to do the brake efficiency test on the rollers on cars with rear LSDs.

Incidentally, the correct box for my car is the 2nd one down on the right (as there is no exact match in the analyser database or emissions book (emissions book being the link I posted above)). I do find it a bit laughable that the limits my car is tested to are 3.5%vol CO2 and 1200PPM hydrocarbons when most peoples cars fail if they exceed CO2 of 0.3% and hydrocarbons of 200ppm but meh Smile Works every time

Mines the same, as its listed as a Nissan 240k and not a Nissan Skyline, and also says it on the log book, so even though its a 1995 reg it still only needs a non cat test as the 240k's not on the analyser database :thumbup1:

Technically the tester shouldn't look up the model name of the car. They should look up the model number (SW20 in my case) and engine code (3S-GTE) in my case, and look for a match for that. So it doesn't matter what your car is registered as, it could say it's a mini babybell for all the tester should care.

However most testers don't strictly stick to the rules Smile

The 240k was the Datsun version in Japan from what i've been told and the 240k was used by some importers to get round the emission testing? but will probably still depend on the MOT inspector??
