It does seem pretty unfair on the sellers. Methinks eBay just doesn't want bad publicity - so force the sellers to cough up, doesn't cost them anything (other than seller fees which they say they'll refund). Unless I'm misunderstanding it.

It took them a while, but eBay have confirmed that all sellers of MJ tickets need to give a full refund to buyers, and they'll get their listing fees etc refunded. The buyer has to send the physical ticket back to the seller, if they had it, so I guess the seller can at least get the face value back. Looks good on eBay but not so good on the sellers !

That's really unfair on ebay's part imho, and am surprised it hasn't got them a lot of bad press (probably because it's MJ)..........but there is a risk involved in buying anything off ebay and the seller can't be held liable when they sold a fair product at the time.

It would be fine to make them refund the face value (as they'll get that back from AEG) but anymore seems really harsh.

IF the buyers of my MJ tickets can contact me, and I am LEGALLY compelled to refund the money then I will have to, but I sold them via my Belgium based Ebay account and not the UK one, I think the buyer will have an uphill struggle forcing UK law to stick in Belgium, if they can contact me at my registered address. Cruel, evil, and not fair on the buyer but sorry the transaction was 100% legal and aboveboard.

For those that don't known I lived in Belgium for a few years, thats why I have a Belgium account, I don't live at the registered address any more though because we moved back to the UK.

Agreed.

Won't eBay just withdraw the money from your PayPal account though ? I do think this is very unfair on the buyers. I sold some Take That tickets the other day and I'd be outraged if eBay tried to make me give a full refund when I sold the tickets in good faith.

My pay Pall account and Ebay account has been closed, along with the feeding bank account. It was closed before this refund business started in all honesty just part of tidying up my finances early last month, I don't need two Euro accounts at the moment. I only sold them on the old account because I don't have a UK selling account only a buying one, so nothing at all underhand.
