You are both right, there are four!! I didn't note the code then but if it comes back on will take it down to find out which one it is, what sort of money should I expect to pay you reckon?

cheers for all the info above, nice one

O2 sensors are expensive. The MR2 has 1 and it's like £180 if/when it goes. In the experience that I've seen aftermarket / pattern parts aren't worth it unfortunately.

There's a list of the IS300-specific codes >>here<<, including the likely causes.

As well as the sensor being at fault, there are also other possibilities indicated in those charts, but having said that I suspect that the sensor is most likely.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Huh that's no good, oh dear i'm sure i will be able to let you know as the light is back on, take it back tomorrow and see what the code is!!

The IS300 O2 sensors are roughly the same sort of price, I'm afraid. You might be able to get one cheaper though, if you do need one, from the US.

:crying: that's gonna eat into my Subaru fund then!! I'll see what the score is tomorrow hopefully and then see if cheaper in the US, cheers Steve.

Just got back from the garage and this is the code I have got come up, looks like that'll be my prob then, it's been fueling really bad too, used nearly quarter of a tank on 45 miles!!

P0141 O2Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank #1 Sensor #2)

Strange thing is though we unplugged the front sensor after resetting the code to try and throw another code up to double check which sensor it was and no code came up, now plugged it all back together and driven home and still no engine light, time will tell but don't wanna use it with it fueling like that!!
OEM part though £198

Yeah it will eat fuel with a broken lambda sensor. Best get it replaced before you go through £198 of fuel Big Grin

PS PM me the part number if you've got it and I'll see what price I can get it for. Likely to be 15%-25% cheaper than retail.

That code is specifically showing that there's a malfunction in the heater circuit of the sensor (it heats it up to make it work properly). So that's more reliably showing that it is indeed the sensor compared to some other codes which involve the sensor (and possibly other things as well).

It's either the sensor, or the wiring to the ECU, or the ECU itself. By far the most likely cause is a failing sensor.
