Supercharger?
A BMW Mini supercharger would fit an IS200?
I though they could be universal if you know as long as they fit, obviously not as much bhp as a normal is200 supercharger

Dont know. If it WAS universal ide probably have a guess that it would have to be toyota/Lexus/anything Japanese. Although every engine is designed differently, so im guessing not. Ill let somebody speak with some knowledge tell you

For a turbo, you need to be mindful of the way it will deal with the exhaust gases etc to produce the desired effect/bhp.
With a supercharger, it's running off the crankshaft rather than exhaust gases, but again you'd have to pick one of a suitable size (and pulley size) to generate the amount of boost that you need.
The charger in the TTE kit for the IS200 is the same as one used on a Mercedes (it's an Eaton charger).
Obviously you'd need to connect up all the pipework, and have some electronics involved as well (even if it's something as simple as an FCD).

The thing is, even if you get the charger, you need to get a cradle made up for it so that it can be mounted in exactly the right place (unless you're lucky enough to get hold of a TTE one), and various other bits to get it all installed. So there's quite a bit of work and it might be no harder to try and find a second-hand TTE kit. Unless you're handy at fabricating things yourself, or know someone who is ?

hell TTE chargers are rare as they are. Re your query on chargers think steve summed it up they are fairly universal but some may require mods iirc you could use some of the Eaton M62 is it from the Merc Kompressors?

22-12-2016, 10:36 AM #9The mini charger is an M45 charger. its definitely too small for the IS200. Its rated for 1-2l engines (so the IS one is right on the limit)
