Will 9.5j and 8.5j wheels fit???
Will 9.5j and 8.5j wheels fit???
I just got a set of wheels that are 8.5 and 9.5j wide with 235/45/17 tyres and 255/40/17 tyres.
The car is on standard suspension with the intention of dropping it soon.
Will these go on without modification or will I need arches rolling to accomadate???
The car is a 1999 altezza rs200
thanx in advance
chris
I know Wozza has 255's on his motor with 18" alloys and lowered but has had his arches rolled? think it'll depend on the offset of the wheels mate,
Some of the wheel/tyre combination's that can fit?
Standard wheels ....PCD = 114.3mm Offset = 50mm
Standard Rim f/r = 17"x7"
Standard Tyre f/r = 215/45-17
(A -40mm drop is possible with this combination)
18" upgrade f/r =18"x7 1/2"
18" upgrade f/r =225/40/18
18" upgrade f/r =18"x8"
18" upgrade f/r =225/40/18
18" upgrade r =18"x8.5"
18" upgrade r =255/35-18
(A -30mm drop is possible with these combination's, however minor arch rolling is needed with the 255/35 combination)
19" upgrade f/r =19"x8"
19" upgrade f/r = 235/35-19
(A -25mm drop is possible with these combination's)
With 19's don't run any rim bigger than 8" on the front as it will hit the strut.19's will rub on the front inner arch at full lock, but this can be solved by cutting or bending away some of the plastic trim
OFFSETS
FRONT
width | offset | tires range (width)
7 = 40 and up 215-225
7.5 = 42 and up 215-235
8 = 43 and up 215-235
8.5 = 45 and up 215-225
REAR
7 = 40 and up 215-225
7.5 = 40 and up 215-235
8 = 42 and up 215-245
8.5 = 45 and up 225-265 (255-265 requires rolling or having lip)
9 = 49 and up 235-275 (MAY require rolling or shaving lip)
9.5 = 52 and up 245-285 (MAY require rolling or shaving lip, 285 may require more modification)
10 = 45 and up 255-315(requires pulling fender)
Also an OFFSET calculator here so you can see what the difference is between standard fit and aftermarket [URL="http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp"]OFFSET CALCULATOR CLICK HERE?

.
also your keeping the small 17's so i don't think you'll have any problems.(depending on offset as bandit say's)
just out of interest if I want to go up but I don't want my arches rolled, can I get 19's? if so, what offset and width is safe? if I can't get 19's without rolling arches, What offset and width should I be looking for on 18's
also, whats the offset of the stock 17's?
Yeah they did my arches for me, and did a great job !!
Get yourself a set of 19"
Wait till you see my one mate , just ask some of the guys who have seen my car if its overkill or not. You should start a poll :lol: to find out
i wish i had 19's they look good on moleys!!still like my 18's though
