hi guys,
as I promised, here is my charger-disassemblement walkthrough.
momentary I'll just put in the pics, I'll comment it later, but I guess pics will say everythig anyways
feel free to ask if there are any problems
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
so of course get out the charger first.
you can leave in the airbox, I don't remember why i took it out that day, I guess it was a bit easier that way.
![[Image: bc4llgv3gx7woyvl3.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4llgv3gx7woyvl3.jpg)
for one of those bolts you need a hexagon socket screw key ball type, otherwise, you wont be able to open it
![[Image: bc4lme452w88fs607.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lme452w88fs607.jpg)
I think you need that key here also
![[Image: bc4lop78obld1fkvb.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lop78obld1fkvb.jpg)
the pulley: first unscrew the inner one, if you put out the 3 outer ones the pulley will spin and it will be more difficult to open it
![[Image: bc4lpwplnm4pzsk87.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lpwplnm4pzsk87.jpg)
you pull of the cap, now you can see the bearing (blue)
there are special pliers for that safety ring, but you can try to get it off with tow small screwdrivers as well
![[Image: bc4lrgj07j0g005lz.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lrgj07j0g005lz.jpg)
![[Image: bc4lsuhxdgm5mvvqf.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lsuhxdgm5mvvqf.jpg)
then you can remove the pulley. behind it there are 4 torx screws
![[Image: bc4ltd6oeu5nsz1wn.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4ltd6oeu5nsz1wn.jpg)
easy job
![[Image: bc4luzulfyjwr2q93.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4luzulfyjwr2q93.jpg)
after this you can drain the oil - you can do that earlier too, but that stuff stinks as hell, so I would wait as long as possible
there wasn't much left in my charger, so it was already time to fill in new oil
![[Image: bc4lvs2eotm1rcg9z.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lvs2eotm1rcg9z.jpg)
![[Image: bc4lxdkl5by36n8fb.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4lxdkl5by36n8fb.jpg)
for comparison - left should be about 100ml, right what was left
![[Image: bc4m0go9o8uxjxx0n.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4m0go9o8uxjxx0n.jpg)
after that you can open the housing
![[Image: bc4m1fkn3c559kz8n.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4m1fkn3c559kz8n.jpg)
it will go off easily, when you hit it softly with a hammer on each end (left and right where the screws for the mounting sit in)

it is a bit more difficult to get the rotor pack out, because you have no point to hit it with the hammer. so i took a thin screwdriver and tapped it in the gap between the housing and the rotor pack. be carefull here, don't hit it to strong, otherwise you might damage the bearing of the rotor pack or something.
![[Image: bc4m9rfc0vl5vejc7.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4m9rfc0vl5vejc7.jpg)
if you want, you can change the bearings now. (just tap them from outside in) mine still were in a good condition, so I just checked the inner side for scratches and cleaned it a bit.

![[Image: bc4md1kbdj6xso7l3.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4md1kbdj6xso7l3.jpg)
i think it was rob in his thread that took loctite510 to seal the charger. i couldn't get that, so i bought sealing that can be used for gearboxes, engines etc. just be sure that it is heat resistant.
![[Image: bc4me2n2w3dh21ysn.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4me2n2w3dh21ysn.jpg)
don't take too much (like me on the pic) because it will be pressed in the inside of the charger. i had to scrape out a lot of that stuff afterwards :o
![[Image: bc4mev8nsm5wdor53.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4mev8nsm5wdor53.jpg)
then you can put on the cap again
![[Image: bc4mgdpcqwb0abfc7.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4mgdpcqwb0abfc7.jpg)
fill in the oil.
i didn't want to buy that overprized eaton-oil, even though people keep telling stories about how super that should be. I bought normal transmission oil 75w90.
![[Image: bc4mjkoovyewusm07.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4mjkoovyewusm07.jpg)
![[Image: bc4mknx1hfdbeuh5z.jpg]](http://666kb.com/i/bc4mknx1hfdbeuh5z.jpg)
then attach the rest of the parts

ad:Great thread mate. Have some rep.
I've just taken mine apart and drained the oil. Need to clean it up a bit before reassembly, and prep it for painting. Can you recommend anything to clean it up with?
Also, how did you remove the one Allen bolt of the four that is very hard to access on the under side of the charger? I can't get anything into it, and so it is still attached!
