Trust a Main Dealer?
Trust a Main Dealer?
I intend to:angry:
You guys have been brilliant. Its often good to discuss matters such as this on an open forum.
When the Aftersales Manager telephoned me on Saturday afternoon advising me of his decision /observations, etc, I failed to stand my ground.....
I now believe that it was his intention to stand his ground, something he is no doubt use to!
Whilst Norwich Lexus have been good to me in the past, a point which the 'Aftersales Manager' highlighted in his email, it has no bearing on this totally separate issue.
rosey1955 Is the Toyota premises where you work covered by CCTV in the way which Lexus _ Norwich apparently are?the car park, the front of the building, were the used cars are, the wee road up the side of the garage and the valet bay is all covered by cctv.

Fit for free what 5 mins of someone's time - thats a joke...
Something that was said on a Porsche forum was that if you go to a specialist of the marque that could be seen as better than going to a main dealer from a re-sell point of view!! We all know how important S/H is on a vehicle like a Porsche.
rosey1955 lexus Norwich have contacted me to say that they are prepared to provide me with a new glass @ £75.41 (plus vat), which they will fit f/o/c.
I have received an automated response from Lrxus Customer services....

I have today spoken with Lexus GB who state that they are unable to assist in this matter. They have advised me to negotiate with Lexus Norwich regarding the incident. They informed me that each Lexus premises has its own franchise, and therefore runs its own business issues......
Yeah that's the response I was expecting from Lexus GB. They're all individual franchises as they said, so they won't intervene in something like this. You'll need to stick to your guns with the dealer themselves. Get Trading Standards involved if they won't budge. It's more down to them to prove they *didn't* cause the damage, rather than you to prove they *did*.

you are gonna love this .....
I rang Lexus -Norwich after speaking with Lexus GB. The receptionist informed me that a female Service Representative was in charge of CCTV. Upon speaking to her I asked how long the CCTV footage was kept/stored?
She advised me that she was unsure....
I then asked if I could view the CCTV, to which she replied that she would have to consult the Aftersales Manager, (whom I had been dealing with)
Ironically he was away for the day. My further request to speak with the overall Manager of the Franchise was again made impossible, as he was apparently away till Thursday.
I aim to go and speak with the Overall Manager, and failing any success provide the Local Press with the article.....
Give Consumer Direct a call on 08454 040506 , they will be able to give you some good advice about your rights.
I imagine the dealer will say "oh sorry, too late, we've erased the CCTV footage now".
