Early this morning I was contacted by the Aftersales manager at Lexus -Norwich who informed me that the company would supply & fit the glass (mirror) free of charge.
He states that he did not wish to become involved in a dispute, or argument with me.
I am now waiting for Lexus Norwich to contact me regarding a date for this work to be completed.

Prior to receiving their call, I contacted the Consumer Direct people (as suggested by Stevie Wevie) and spoke with a Representative. I was told that I had a strong case against Lexus under the 'Supply of Goods & Services Act 1982.(under duty of Care)
He informed me that the Consumer Direct website even contained Templates for complaint purposes. I no longer need to pursue this issue....

I wonder why Lexus changed their minds?

Maybe they thought youde be another simple customer, toddle off, think you have no power over them, and pay them £75 for something theyve done.

Since youve fought back they have realised they dont have a leg to stand on, and agreed?

They probably backed down because you put up a fight and didn't lie down and take their ****.

I bet Lexus GB probley told them they had had a complaint against them, even if they wouldnt do anything themselves.

It might effect Norwich should they want to renew their franchise

The email complaint which I sent Lexus GB included the link to this 'thread', so whether they sent the email onwards to Lexus Norwich is unknown. My guess is that they might have. If you couple that with my calls to Norwich Lexus regarding the CCTV yesterday, one wonders whether they thought better of it.

The bottom line though is the fact that I know "I told the truth", and can categorically state that my wing mirror glass was intact when I drove onto their forecourt.

Matter Resolved. Thanks to all those who commented & gave adviceWink

Marsdendean Glad its sorted!

I got a new full mirror (inc glass & surround) for £45 from ebay!! IMO £75 for just the glass is very expensive!

Yes, but don't forget that this was their offer of providing me with the glass at Cost price. Including the dreaded VAT it worked out at "just over £88:glare:
