Right I'm thinking of starting putting some videos up on youtube of gameplay from PS3, just something to pass time?

Been researching on set ups to get my laptop to record the gameplay.

Now found this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UK-EASYCAP-USB-2-0...19ba55d75f

seems very cheap, you can actually get that even cheaper? but not sure, most of the youtube set ups are proper capture cards for like 50-80 quid.

Or if any got any experiance?

Need a cheap but effective option, (well cheap is a prority as not much money to play with like usual)

right bought i set up which cost me 30 quid, with all wires splitters and software, decent stuff.

just thats the quality? very bad quality even on my tv display its rubbish, then again i am comparing it to HDMI,

in order to record i have split rca up one to laptop one to tv. maybe by splitting it the quality has decreased?

Unfortunately "quality" and "cheap" don't go hand in hand - if you want quality get an hd pvr like the hauppauge one and you'll get pretty good results, otherwise you'll have to put up with the poor quality I think.

yh thought that would be the case, looking at around 150-200 for a HD one, maybe in the future, ive been messing with the settings on the software and come up with this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODS8S8CZFxc

which doesnt seem too bad, better then the first.

seems like playstation network is down at the moment, so cant get any MW2 tests up.(something to do with the internal clock on the old ps3's not liking a leap year?)

right sussed it out i think,

i was provided with one of these with my ps3

[Image: d74c36c622a0c28cd8426110.L._SL500_AA300_.jpg]

but i need one of these, my bro bought the ps3 brand new and got this.

the quality between them is soo much better, however many sites the first one should work, so maybe mine is damaged, so asked my sister to bring her ps2 which is the same as the first one round, so i can test it

i changed the videos to 16:9 and got this quality, surely a problem with the cables:

Yeah definitely mate, you had the wrong cable to begin with - you haven't been seeing it in HD then so far, I'm surprised you didn't post up saying the PQ was rubbish!

Get the component cable and the difference will be unbelievable (assuming you're using an HDTV) Smile

no i knew the difference as I have that connected and HDMI connected aswell, and the difference is just amazing !

Only thing when I want to record I got to use AV cable instead of HDMi which is just **** !!

Problem I can see now is that the component cable will go into my tv, however I dont know how to connect it to my capture card which only has S-Video and RCA (Yellow, White, Red)

Only thing I can think of is a converter like this?:

but will that actually work and the quality stay the same when connected to the capture card via s-video? i think the only way to find out is by trying it.

this venture is certainly costing a bit lool

thinking now should have just splashed out on a HD Capture card lol
