OK I am not a fan of the game - it is as fixed as F1 and last night went some way to show it for what it is, so just a couple of questions:

Why does football allow offside goals to stand?
Why is there not a facility for a video ref - like all other main stream sports, Rugby, F1, Tennis etc?
Surly this is cheating claiming a goal that was against the rules?

The offside rule as it stands is a joke and no body really knows what is or isn't offside when it's as close a call as it was with Crouches 2nd goal last night, the benifit should be given to the attacking team and from the replays of the goal last night it shows Crouches feet were level with the defender when the ball was played so technically he's onside but it's avery grey area, also it does all boil down to human error sometimes they get it wrong as they are only human.

As for video replays at the moment the claim is the introduction of video replays would disrupt the flow of the game, however I think an official watching a monitor and connected to the ref via the radio link would be able to assist on alot of incidents, but they should only be able to aid a decision when the ball is out of play or play has been stopped.

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

I don't really follow football, but there's lots of games where goals can stand which shouldn't have done really, due to rule violations etc. For example, I watch ice hockey, and quite often there can be disputes about whether something was really a goal or not - in the NHL in North America they have video replays but at most other games they don't.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Just shows how much money is in football how many offical are there now.
When a you used to have two lines man's and a ref.

I sure a camera is much cheaper than all the extra staff and how much can a club lose if the goal was in but the offical said the ball never went over the line Etc etc;;;; I am sure the camera would get this right each time.

Why does football allow offside goals to stand? because the attacker should be allowed the benefit of doubt as an attack can move so fast its not always the case that an attack should be stopped especially if a defensive team always play the offside trap,
Why is there not a facility for a video ref - like all other main stream sports, Rugby, F1, Tennis etc? because sepp blatter and michel plattini think it will ruin the flow of the game and will allow teams to cheat or get a game stopped for enough time so they then can work a benefit of knowing that another game has finish and they know they have to get a result to get the points or even wose last day of season and deciding of a league title/playoff places relegation factors.

Surly this is cheating claiming a goal that was against the rules
yeah technically it is cheating but so many games have been decided this way that they would have to change rewrite history and everyone would be suing everyone for loss of monies through promotions and relegations.

so untill platinini and blatter are gone and tony warner as well football will never change.

Sorry I didn't mean crouch was cheating, far from it you score when you can!! but letting the goal stand that was scored whilst offside (all the commentators said so), stand is in a way cheating. Not the players fault - he was doing what he is supposed to do, but still against the rules.

Yea sometimes rugby is halted to get the right decision this should be the case with football. Not to mention catching the players who think diving is fair play etc...............

I didn't think Liverpool were playing last night? Oh and Terry getting the abuse anyone would have thought he slept with the fans wife's.

I understand the timing aspect, it would be a nightmare if they kept stopping for it, but they could have a 3 appeal system like they do at wimbledon to stop teams from doing it over and over.
