Exactly.

To much money in it for totally fair play.

2tongues Exactly.

I don't watch much football, but I can't see any harm in a third umpire system like in the cricket or other sports you mentioned - wondering whether the big money is the reason it hasn't happened in football while it has in so many other sports.

Stopping a game mid flow to check video fotage could be used as an advantage for a defending team though for example the ball's cleared off the line at one end and the team break forward in a 4 on 2 situation suddenly the captain of the now defending team calls for the video to prove the ball did or didn't cross the line at the other end thus stopping a goal scoring opportunity.

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

Like Rugby play only stops at an appropriate time.

There are more appropriate times throughout the course of a Rugby match though mate, you can't exactly have a goaline clearance that was unclear if the ball crossed the line or not and then check it next time there's a throw in or corner and then award the goal, I think video footage can only be used in dodgy penalty decisions offsides if a goal is scored(that way the opposition can dispute the goal and have it checked) or in deciding if a player has used violent conduct or not.

I heard once that they maybe bringing a linesman in near the goal line to decide for decisions about if the ball went over the line. However, these arent really the big factor as they happen on rare occasions.

I beleive having a 3rd referee linked to a screen would be good, although it wouldnt stop diving as they cannot stop a game, and go "Lets just see if he divided". Maybe if the referee has given a free kick, then a 3rd ref maybe able to add that the player dived.

Although nowadays its hard to see what a dive is and what a foul is. There doesnt have to be contact for it to be a foul as a player may jump over a trailing leg to break away, but fall in the process....... Should the player have just kept his legs in and risked an injury, or tried jumping over the tackle. Would jumping over the tackle class as diving.

Football is the game it is, and rules change as time goes by. Hopefully it doesnt get spoilt by too much technology.

Jambo they use extra officials on the touch line in the Europa league to help with decisions in and around the penalty area, again though they are no good either in our qualifiying game at Goodison we had a player brought down inside the box right in front of the extra official it was a clear pen and he gave nothing, I think the officials should be ex players or have much better training or be taught to understand the game better the thing is most of the Ref's have never played the game, I played at various levels for 20 odd years so understand how the game flows and what happens unfortunately the Ref's don't.

Come on guy's your expecting fair play of a governing body that let Henry hand ball a goal & knock ireland out of the competion with no reprocusion's? & he admited it. Compare that to Rugby where you can get sinbind for a trip, & read up what happened with blood gate.
