It's good, but has it's down falls.
I would say in comparison to the RX-8 I used to own, its in a completely other league.
But getting off the line is a bit tricky as there is a delay before the power is put down other than that it is awesome, the box changes gear so fast in Sport and S-Sport modes.
I would suggest going for the more powerful FQ-330 SST as the standing start problem isn't as bad because it's mapped slightly different.
Yea, i've heard that the box can't take all the torque the engine produces so to protect the box it only lets half the power to be put down. once it's rolling it takes off like a bat out of hell. The manuals don't have this problem because they can take all the power.
Exacly that,
The manual is suppose to be quicker, but I could never see anyone changing gear as fast as the SST, so it make up for it in that. Plus you get 6 gears in the SSt rather than 5 in the manual.
Depends on how your expecting.
I am getting around 20mpg to and from work, which is only down the road about 6 miles or so, but I'm averaging 23, and on a motorway run I'm getting 26.
In comparison to any 2-litre performance car, I was getting 25 on average from my civic type-r (30 on a good run), 17 on average in the RX-8 (20 on a good run), so by comparison not bad really.
The only exception is when you floor it.
