well the officer dealing with it just rang and guess what - they are treating it as criminal damage as i cannot say the car was moving at any point when the side got scraped as i did not see him entering the "space" they will not give me his details as it wont be regarded as a collision and i would have to sue for any damages !! either that or go through my own insurance to get his details to know who to sue

Typical waste of space Police attitude. No wonder people take things into their own hands.

totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

hmmm - well so far ive sent a long email to our local chief inspector outlining my feelings on the subject and pointing out that as it turns out my gf who was in the car park before me and did witness him driving out of his spot with his door open in a hurry when i started to run round the fence to get near to him - she did tell the other officer this at the time and it was noted and she was told she would need to give a full statement later about it - it appears the two officers dealing with it have not really spoken to each other or compared notes in any way - as for me tbh my gf stayed mostly away from me last niight as i was in a foul mood - however we did discuss it at length today and sent appropriate following emails to the officer in charge etc -the police then rang me and asked if i would still like to proceed with the case ???!*^^^%

i will no doubt be paying for a respray myself by the look of it but we live in hope

Nick that is terrible mate. No matter how cheap anyones car is it is never nice to have it vandalised by anyone and the last person you woudl expect to have it from would be a pensioner. See this site, they are good and have used them before to lodge a complaint about a case I had when my wallet was stolen - http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/
