alpine phantom (cda-7998r) repair
hi all - ive had one of the above stereos kicking about for a while now-i pulled it out my car when my friends knee knocked the motorised front off during some spirited driving-im in need of the clips and sliders that refit the front as they were bent and are now lost-i have put it in a couple of stereo shops locally to get fixed but they were both more interested in buying it then fixing it-it was a pretty top of the line head unit a few years ago and i still see them go for silly money on ebay-its too good to throw away so i would be glad to hear from anyone in the industry who might be able to source the side fixings for me or give me any clues what to do-failing that i will be putting it up on swaps for something usable in my lex
morning lexusboy-yes both audio shops i put it in were alpine dealers-the unit just seemed to sit there and they said they couldnt get the parts but would buy it off me for spares as they tested it and it does as i know still work fully-i see these units go second hand for hundreds of £££s on fleabay so i cant see them being that obsolete-maybe i will have to contact alpine direct
Mate contact Alpine directly, think they charge a standard charge of about £60 for any repair all you got to do is post it to them in Milton Keynes - Alpine Service:08703333407.......
PS....sorry didnt get a chance to try the grom on the weekend:Fish:
oh cheers shaz i will ring them direct although tbh im loath to spend that much on it atm as i havent got a car to put it in as im down to one car atm-no worries on the grom just whenever you get round to checking-i must admit im thinking of replacing the lex but not sure what to go for
