Paint damage
Paint damage
My neighbour has just really scratched up his paintwork, he washed his car with a sponge, nothing new to that been doing it for years, but the fine layer of dust has actually scratched his paint fairly noticeably, needless to say he isn't happy at all. It only appeared once it was dry so now the whole car needs paint correction - its only a Ford Focus so its not the end of the world:laugh:.
So before washing your car rinse it first to try and remove the fine dust, it has silica in it, and damages paint.
Did he go straight to the bone dry car with the sponge then? Didn't realise that could cause such damage but not something I've done before. Snow foaming also helps loosen the grime before touching the car with a sponge
I only wash my car a couple of times a year, and always just go in with the sponge, which is what a lot/most people do actually do, but seeing the damage its something I will not be doing again, will use the hose 1st!!
Snow foam FTW !

Ha ha, and we dont need snow foam, when we get the real stuff most of the year
A bit off topic, it was a snow blizzard yesterday when driving home. We could not go much faster than 50 mph because of poor visibilityhock:
Has Scotland not been told about "global warming" or the fact that its the middle of April?
