Need a desktop
Sorry to start another PC thread, but I need to buy a desktop - who are the reliable brands nowadays? Never bought a Dell before, but every business uses them so must be well made, should I go with them or should I stick to HP which I know?
We have two top of the range HP workstations here, and they have been nothing but trouble. I would vote with Dell if your going for a complete system. They seem to be well built and well spec'd.
I always build my own systems though, works out cheaper, but there is no comeback if you have problems
Lexusboy HP have had there fair share of problems mostly with there laptops.
If you need a good machine for design then the Apple a good business machine is the IBM or a good value all rounder is the Dell.

parthiban Cheers Ian, don't want a mac, IBM doesn't exist anymore do they as a computer manufacturer? Thought they were sold out to form Lenovo, and they're just laptops?
One other thing, I would like to have dual display support, do most graphics cards support this or is it still not normally available on desktops unless you custom build?

Lexusboy Your right about the name change on IBM products but the name Lenova is still new.
With most people still not knowing it is the IBM machine, here a link

I have a Lenovo laptop, it is ultra reliable, been dropped more than a few times and no damage apart from a new screen last year (£60), its only turned off a couple of times a month (if that) and is still 100% reliable 3 years on.
Can't praise Lenovo enough.
Thats not a bad price. Is that including monitor, or just pc, keyborad, mouse? I took a look at that card. As long as it has the dual sockets it will support dual monitors. If you only have VGA screens it will come with an adaptor to suit.
The core i7 are excellent processors, coupled with 6gb ram it should be very smooth
