Moley You also need to use sealant after you polish it , then apply some wax after that.

Moley Well you also need grit guards for your buckets.
And you are better of with a lambs wool wash mit for the car and a microfiber one for the wheels.

Keep it simple so:
Foam
Wash
Rinse
Dry
Polish
Wax Seal
Polish & wax are differnet mate, polish takes away the swirls & small surface scratches, wax will seal your car paintwork.
If the surface is rough to the touch after wash/dry then you need to clay or prepare your paintwork.

but if i get my car washed by the poles every 2 weeks at £8 a go, it would work out more over a year than investing in the products and doing it properly myself
