Hi,

Have been quite slack with posts as of late, but will get a good selection together for you to view.

This w'end i was asked to prepare this Jaguar XJR with a Stage 1 Paint Correction. The vehicle was already in fantastic condition with very low mileage.

This was the vehicle upon delivery, quite clean with a light pollen dusting all over it

The vehicle was jetwashed down and the wheels sprayed with Bilberry

They were then agitated with brushes

They were then sprayed again and the insides were cleaned with a wheel brush

The door / boot and wheel arches were then sprayed with APC and agitated

The wheels and arches were then rinsed and the vehicle snowfoamed

This was left to dwell for 5 mins and then rinsed off. The 2 bucket mix was then prepared using Meguiars Shampoo Plus

After the vehicle, the door and boot shuts were then washed again

The vehicle was then brought inside (just Smile ) and dried off with plush drying towels

The vehicle was then clayed using Gloss It mild clay with Meguiars Last Touch as lube

Unsurprisingly very little contamination came off the paintwork

Now while i was claying, all i could hear was a constant kicking! Sadly for this poor chap he had his manhood removed the day before and wasnt to happy so i payed him a quick visit Smile

With him now quiet i noticed a lot of bird noises and blue tits constantly flying into the stabe next door, that would be this then Smile

Anyway, the Jaguar was taken back outside and washed again as before

And taken back inside to be dried

It was then taped up in preparation for machine polishing

The paintwork was now inspected, there were a few marks here and there but in general there was just light swirling, it was very hard for me to show you these via camera. In an attempt to really get some gloss to the silver paintwork and also remove the swirling, i chose to use a 3M finishing pad with the Makita rotary and for polish i used the lovely Menzerna 85RD

This was the bonnet after paint correction

I was happy with this so applied the same approach to the drivers door

This was inspected by LED torch

Moving round to the rear drivers side door

Switching to the passenger side there was only one highly visible scratch on the rear door

The front passenger door had heavier swirling and a few deeper scratches

I switched to a 3M polishing pad and Menzerna 106FA

This virtually removed all marks with only 1 being slightly noticeable if you got very close in the right light

The roof was also machined in the same way

The boot was quartered ready for machining

Machine polishing was now complete and i called it a day

Up early on the Sunday, to not the best of weather

As i couldnt shut the garage the night before, the boot had got slightly wet. I took this beading shot from the Menzerna polishing

The rain stopped and the paintwork was wiped down with Menzerna Top Inspection

I then applied a glaze to the Jaguar, starting with the bonnet. For this i chose Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite

I did the 2 right hand 'humps' of the bonnet and wasnt overly impressed with the finish it left, which was unusual. So i got out a product i had not used for a long time and one i would normally only use on dark colours

and applied this to the 2 left and middle 'humps' of the bonnet. It was difficult to catch this by camera but the No.7 just left a better clarity finish on this paint. I appreciate the light is slightly different but there was certainly a difference in finish, which i prefered

No.7 was applied to the whole bonnet and to the remainder of the vehicle

2 applications of Poorboys Wheel Sealant was applied to the wheels

and 2 applications of Endurance Tyre Gel

Leaving this

The chosen wax for today was 1 application of Victoria Concourse

Which left this

Always think the silver coloured motors are pretty hard to get a nice deep shine to them, but you've done another cracking job on that Jaguar mate :thumbup1:
