My girlfriend's birthday is next saturday and I'm thinking about going on a short trip abroad with her. London is nice, but I would like to visit a country I've never been to before.

Flight tickets to Edinburgh are cheap and I've always wanted to go to Scotland, but what to do when we get there? Any recommendations? :tongue_smilie:

Got to do the Royal Mile and up to the castle, then other attractions are Royal Yatch Brittania at Leith docks, the pubs in Rose Street, Harvey Nichols for lunch on the top floor balcony (http://www.harveynichols.com/output/Page145.asp). Also on the Royal Mile there is a whisky tasting experience which is good, the Camara Obscura very interesting and if you are staying at night see if the ghost walks are on. There is an excellent zoo just outside the city centre, easy to get to on bus.
Enjoy a great city

Cheers
