My IS200 Sport has a FSH, most of which has been carried out at Lexus Sheffield & Norwich. She is moving towards her 120,000 service, and as such I took a look at several of the Lexus invoices supplied with the car when I bought her some years back. 3 of the services completed by Lexus referred to the use of Castrol Magnetec, which surprised me....Huh

I note that several Auto Part stores are selling Castrol Magnetec for around £20, as opposed to £32 odd in most other places. What are your opinions of Castrol Magnetec, bearing in mind I run a standard engine with no mods' (except K & N filter)

Castrol - well known trusted brand, with a great rep.

Can't go wrong.

It's all i've used in my Lex for the past 3 years and in my pug before that, just make sure it's the correct grade for £20 5w 30 fully synthetic is best for the Lex.

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

I prefere to spend a bit more and buy Gulf XLE 5w 30 oil from Opie oils (when they are running promos such as 10% off, free shipping etc). Not knocking Castrol Maganetec.

I eventually went for the same oil which has been used in a number of recent services:

The Morris oil's have always been proven to be very good, used to use it in all my Mini's, Fords, Calibra Turbo, plus a few others i've owned? using Gulf Oil in the Celica at the moment as i can get the one for it at £8.99 for 4ltr's so a bit of a bargain from Home and Bargains shop Big Grin Should really use the 5-30 fully synthetic but find the engine rattles a bit when used, so changed it to 10-40 semi and its now runs quite sweet :thumbup1:

Lexus IS200 Sport Navigator (Now being stripped again)
