if I have a chip and use AutoGlass, do I have to pay my windscreen Excess?
i'm not clear on how it works with chips as the auto glass ad says could be done free and won't affect no claims blah blah
I don't wanna ring them and have them fix my chip and then suddenly have to pay my insurers a full excess which may cost more than the chip repair itself
i'm insured fully comp thru flux
If you have fully comp insurance then you won't need to pay for a chip to be repaired.
If the screen has a crack and needs to be replaced then you will have to pay your glass excess (this can be from £50-£100).
Yeap as above, best to let flux confirm on your actual policy though
if its just filling a chip its free and doesnt affect your policy.
if its a replacement it varies, some ask for the full excess, some ask for the glass excess as said above, normally about £50
well best ask the guy who works there lol, it is not always free for a chip repair it all depends on who you are insured with direct line aviva etc are £10 some are £15, and others free. it will tell you on your policy how much to pay for a chip and how much for a screen.
and if you are not fully comp it will cost near £100 for a repair and a lot more for a screen, did one on a saxo a while ago lad was third party cost his mum £387. managed to get it down to £300 for her as i used the same trim.
