So I was sat staring at the CD changer and wondered if I could fit a Sat Nav / mp3 player / computer in place of it. I did a few searches on the boards here but got a bit lost in posts.

http://www.outlawjapclub.co.uk/forum/sho...php?t=3048

The above is good for fitting LCDs to the back which I well might do (noisey kids).

http://www.outlawjapclub.co.uk/forum/sho...php?t=3013

I read the above for replacing the head unit. (really well written / explained)

How can I get started with picking a head unit? Ideally I'd like some kind of setup that allows digital music / video playback and gps would be a bonus. .

Also has anyone ever fitted anything to that popup container in the middle top of the dash? I'd feel like james bond if I could get something techno to pop up out of that =)

you mean something like mine:

Or just fitting a normal double DIN stereo in its place?

As for the pop up container, thats where the factory satnav is and it rises from the dash, people have changed that to aftermarket sat naves, gauges, etc.

Yeah think I'll go for fitting a double din (following the DJ Wozza Walkthrough) and put a 2 din computer / media player / screen in there

Alas my IS200 just has a storage thing in the top pop-up there, I'll have a search and see how hard it is to fit GPS.. .

Christ man, have you had an ejector seat fitted? That red button looks ominous! Wink

Right, I've bit the bullet and bought the Autoleads facia and the amp bypass cable so I'm going to *have* to buy a new stereo!

But finding one at a reasonable price isn't so easy !

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Camera / TV tuner I can see being really good idea.. . nice tip. Reversing camera might be a pain to wire nicely, will look into that.. .
