Say, for example, I purchased a complete turbo setup taken from another IS300. How hard would it be to install on my car?

The kit would come with manifold, piping, clamps, turbo, wastegate, injectors, oil feed return, bov, boost controller, gauges and a pre-tuned piggyback. Only thing I would need is a new intercooler as it got bent up in an accident.

It was generating 408rwhp on another IS300 that only had a lower compression headgaskget, but my goal would be much lower at around the 320bhp range.

TBH i'd have rather gone the easier route with a supercharger, but I might be able to get this little lot at a fairly decent price. All depends on how much effort/time/money it's going to take to get it installed and generating a bit more power.

I believe the ecu has a harness, so that side of things should just be pnp. Forgot to say that it also has a fuel pump and a downpipe. Would still be running the stock diameter catback tho (2.5" or 2.25" can't remember?)

Would certainly be a new venture for me though. I'm methodical, careful and have common sense. Is that enough or does it really need prior experience?

I would think if you are really careful and take plenty of photos of how things are taken off, and have a 2nd car to drive whilst this is off the road, and maybe a ramp to help with the 'zorst etc?. It should be doable, but the fuelling etc will have to be done by a pro or you will destroy the engine.

Yeah I'm going to make sure I get a wideband welded in at the same time. I'm hoping the tune already on the piggy will be quite reasonable though. It'll be set up for 93ron and the hot weather of California, but ibvously I'll need a proper tune sooner rather than later.
