Dark Samurai No mate was not that though. I asked what cars people had, and they replied with stuff like:
Aston martin vanguish (bosses)
BMW M6 (Girlfriends, mums mate from the pub)
Jaguar XF (tony ironman starks)
And when i said i meant you as in close family they were like "you didnt say that, and therefore you are wrong" and things like "coming from the kid who can't even produce titles clearly"

And shahz, i asked a mod to delete the post on mr2roc

Ahhhh that would explain it!

Carpediem Not to mix things up like but is the insturment removal guide a sticky on this website?

if not then i doubt i would of spent ages searching for the correct thread either.

I always check sticky's first as the most common issues/mods are usually there, if not then i ask in a new thread but usually cover my **** by saying "ive searched but cannot find", that way it makes you look less lazy.:Chair:

You might not have spent ages searching for it but you might have typed 'instrument cluster removal' into the search box in the top right (it's not even a separate page, it's that easy). It's 3 words and 1 click, and lo and behold there are all the instructions you need. It takes about 5 seconds.

If people aren't going to use the tools put freely at their disposal then it's not surprising when they get a snappy response having asked a question that gets asked regularly by new members when the info is right there in front of them.

There's an added level of annoyance if you run a forum when people do this, because after a years worth of people joining up and going 'HI IVE JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR HOW DO I FIT A DUMP VALVE/BLUE LEDS/VEILSIDE KIT' your forum ends up with 1000 threads that all have the same content (which is, inevitably, 'USE THE SEARCH BOX').

Carpediem and TBF, the guys response "this has been covered many times before!", well im sorry but 10 points for observation, the cars have only been around for nearly 20 years

Really? Last time I checked MR2ROC is the MK3 owners club forum. I don't think they existed in 1990!

Lol points taken, but still the response was un-warranted, you would think if they are all adults then a generic response of "please use search tool" would be better suited?

or if it annoys them that much then take the high ground and not bother to even read the thread?

just because its there doesnt mean they need to get angry or get involved..

as for the dates, i did say nearly 20 years, not actually 20 years, although i will admit to not actually checking the timescales :Chair:

Being a new member too and finding my way around... we would not treat someone like this, like we have had a few members asking the same thing of why their HID's will not work on the IS200, but we have replied politely.

i think it depends on the forums and its member tbh

MR2ROC seems to be not so good and replied sarcastically (i have only seen this thread so judegement is probably biased)

OJC will often give the best advice even if its repeated,

VR6OC (another forum im on) will not reply at all if its a repeated question

jsut take it as a pinch of salt and a learning curve buddy

ROC just have a bit of a no nonsense attitude, that's all. They are there to discuss their roadsters and that's about it - they are a very trackday oriented forum for example, with them it's all about the driving and not really about the LEDs...

FWIW they are one of the friendliest bunch I have met in real life, but they are more or less all over 40 so maybe it's an age gap thing Wink

I will pass your comments on to markiii, RoadsterBoy and Dan M when we go to Le Mans if you like Oli? Big Grin
