Nissan Almera GTi (N15)
Nissan Almera GTi (N15)
Hello All,
As I have done a fair amount to my car already, I shall create a nice long opening post of the story so far... So here we go:
BASIC INFO: Nissan Almera GTi - SR20DE 2.0 16V
So here are a few pics of when I bought it:
It was in pretty good condition, paint work was really good apart from stone chips and scrapes on the front bumper. It already had lowering springs on and Scorpion Cat-back but I wasn't a huge fan of the wheels that came on the car, so I changed them. I also added the clear side repeaters at the same time.
Just after I put them on:
Next on the agenda was to paint the calipers, as so:
Then looking at that picture, the only thing that really let it down was the ride height.
Eventually some coilovers (Daiyamas) became available which I snapped up, then fitted:
Which in my opinion completed the look I was going for, including much better handling.
So next, were the minor engine mods that I could do. The first step was add the 4-2-1 manifold and sports CAT. This completed the exhaust as I already had a cat-back. Following this I added an Apex'i Power Intake filter. Also added polyurethane engine mounts to make the engine/gearbox a lot more solid. At first the engine was filthy, so with the couple of mods I decided to give the engine a bit of scrub:

So then I decided to go to my first proper car meet - JAE (Japanese Auto Extravaganza). Here are a few pics
Since the show I have made a couple of other changes, which will follow in the next post...
Really liking the almera
love that colour
EXHAUST
I had the exhaust re-done between the sports cat and back box:
So here are the bits that he took off: What a mess!!
Then these are the bits he did:
First he cut out the sports cat and made it up properly because it was a mess before, now it looks like this:
Then he made up the sections from the cat back to the back box:
Now a couple of pics on the car:
New silencer -
Fits to perfection
So now the whole system is 2.5".
Next - COLD AIR FEED:
The feed goes straight to one of the cut outs in the front bumper.
REAR LIGHTS
So here is what it use to look like:
Now its like this:
These are Pulsar VZR lights straight from Japan.
ROLLING ROAD
I went to a rolling road day and the car made 145bhp at the flywheel. (They are 140bhp standard) So i thought that was a little low... I then had the Ignition timing checked and it was retarded by 5 degrees... So I had the timing set to where it should be, then advanced it a little more. So the result is now this:
FLYWHEEL
So - red line = 145BHP at 10 Degrees Ignition Timing
- blue line = 154BHP at 15 Degrees Ignition Timing (Standard timing)
- green line = 158.2 at 17 Degrees Ignition Timing
So that's 13BHP more than last time at the Flywheel, and 18BHP over standard. VERY happy with the results!
WHEELS (Last time was 119BHP)
So that is more or less it so far... oh, and I fitted a short Shift.
This is my most recent pic of the car:
Hope you like!
Cheers
