Hi after some deliberation on what colour to paint my callipers I finally made up my mind and over the last two week ends have done it.

I took loads of pictures while doing this and as I had to strip my brakes down to paint the callipers I will probably do a separate thread on dismantling and re-assembling the brakes, if people think it would be of use.

So after much thought on the colour this is what I used.

I started on the back first and after stripping everything down and preparing I was presented with this.

I also wanted to paint the hub in the center of the brake disk. These have been renewed some time in the recent past and I wanted to get some paint on the hubs before they got too rusty. I used black Hammerite smooth for this.

The hub before painting.

The calliper and drum after painting.

PS. I realised after putting the wheels back on that I needed to paint further down the face of the drum so I did that the next day when I put the decals on.

While the paint was drying I decided to give the inside of wheels a clean.

before.

and after.

I know they weren't too bad but it made me feel better knowing that I'd done them.

and finally, the next day, after putting the decals on.

Right and this week end it was time to do the fronts.

To be honest these look like they've been painted before, at least the front part.

I removed everything, of cause with the fronts you can take part of the calliper off (I don't know what you call it).

and after cleaning up.

and then painting

after putting everything back together

and finally after applying the decals

All in all not looking too bad.

As I said at the beginning I did take a lot of pictures during stipping down and re-assembling the brakes so I might do a walk-through if it would be of interest.
