That's really sad, RIP Confusedad:

I'm a bit confused though, both cars are on the wrong sides of the road if it was Germany aren't they? Shouldn't the LFA be on the right and the BMW on the left? Also bit surprised they both died when the car looks intact unless they weren't wearing seatbelts or something - either way obviously not of much relevance any more Confusedad:

Its a bit confusing really. As said above the stucture of the LFA doesnt seem to be mishaped at all and from the video it doesnt look like there was much footwell instrusion so I'm guessing the must have not been wearing seatbelts. Not much left of the front end tho which goes to show they must have been doing some speed.

Remember it was a prototype model so the standard safety systems may not have been fitted / active.

Think that kinda defeats the object really if they dont fit the standard safety systems in a prototype. I mean that if a car is a prototype surely it needs at least the standard safety systems if not more?

Looks like there are airbags but you're right it isn't a finished vehicle. I still don't get why the cars are on opposite sides of the road - although I'm assuming that's the reason the crash occurred........

It was just speculation. The only people who know what really went on aren't around to tell us!

In the video you can clearly see the air bags had deployed.

RIP to a true master of car design.

The Nurburgring claims yet another life.
