Hi all,

I trying to find out the flow rates for my CA18DE/T and/or SR20DE/T oil pump as i'm building a dry sump system, i have found 2 stage pumps that are suitable but need to know what volume the original pump can shift for a given time and revs, can anybody help?

If i can get a suitable pump for this would anybody else be interested in a system? I'm not talking silly money either! I would probably only sell a complete kit suitable for CA/SR engine and a kit of parts for other engines or even just the pump for those that have or can get hold of the parts needed.
The biggest cost of a dry sump system is the pump so if this works out it could save us all a lot of money and banish nissans big end probs to the history books!

cheers everybody, Scott

Hi mate
I think you'll probly get a quicker answer on sxoc as there are a few ppl on there with dry sumps.
What are you calling reasonable money for these???
I have found a very nice motor that I want that could maybe use this???

probably about £100-150 for the pump itself, don't really want to get into making kits for engines other than my own as i could end up opening a big can of worms so probably best idea is just to sell individual items i.e. pump and tank and let the buyer make up the rest of the kit to suit. i think a complete kit could be made up for less than £350

That's quite a good price mate.
Is that buying individual or part of a group buy???

just individual, i won't be testing it out on my car until the winter at least, just trying to get the ball rolling now to start getting all the parts together and mocking it up on one of my spare engines so won't be selling any until next year

so apart from extra ground clearance and not running the pump dry whilst on severe drift, is there any factual advantage to running dry sump???

i have heard (but not sure how true) that it can release extra power???

yes what you've heard is correct, by removing the oil from the sump as quickly as poss can create a 5-15% increase in power as the crank and rods doesn't have to travel through an oil mist, also power can be further increased if the scavenge pump is powerfull enough to create a vacuum inside the engine, maybe another 5% or so.
