Because of the kerbing i think ill end up having to fill the outers, so i will have to paint them silver. The inners i was thinking of doing them colour coded to the car. A nice shiny dark metallic green

These look better on the MR2 than the LEXUS or is it because they fit the arches better?

I passed a black MR2 with the IS wheels the other day in the city centre - you been in Edinburgh recently Hurricane?

Agree that the wheels look great on the MR2 by the way...

Been a while since ive udated things on here, so lets get things going again.

As you may all know, i got my japspeed exhaust fitted a couple of weeks ago. Was fairly easy going, although the old bolts were so rusty they were hardly recognisable as nuts and bolts. I took the car down to quik fit, who got the acetalene torch out and removed the old ones for me.

After a quick drive back to rabsters we got the exhaust off and the new one on with very little hassle. So a couple of the pics.

While we were under the car we discovered that the gearbox/driveshaft seal has gone on the passenger side, so this is now due for replacement once i get it ordered from toyota. I tried to get the fill bolt out the gearbox, but its well seized, so im not sure what i will do here, as i will need to get it out to refill the box.

Also things that i have planned in the near future.

Rear lights - i will be adapting the rear lights so that the stop/tail works on both of the red sections. I will also be tinting the lenses. Im going to mask off the red parts and tint all the rest of the surround, leaving just the stop/tail lens and the reflectors red.

Wheel refurb - i keep changing my mind how i want the wheels to look. I am now thinking i will spray them in a dark metallic grey/anthracite colour. I was also thinking of putting a coloured stripe round the lip, but rabster thinks it will look rubbish. Ill do some photoshops tonight to show what im thinking of.

I was also thinking if i do the wheels in an anthracite colour then i will do some other parts of the car in the same colour, as accents. Some MR2 came with the side stripes a different colour to the rest of the car. As most of mine need repainting im thinking of doing them the same colour as the wheels, what do you guys think of that?

I also bought some JDM retracting mirrors, so at some point i am wanting to get these fitted and wired into the alarm, so they open/close when i lock/unlock the car.

Up to date to do list

fit replacement rear calipers - need to clean and paint first
get cd changer working DONE
get decent single din brackets/blanks DONE
fit wheel spacers - getting them modified to fit
fit is200 rims DONE
refurb is200 rims - decide final colour???
replace aerial
find and sort annoying rattles
Fit JDM mirrors
Replace gearbox diff seal
Fix idling issues
Continue tidying bodywork - spraying & polishing

Is it mashed like someone's tried to undo it with the wrong size socket? Mine was cause it's an odd size.

Hurricane Some MR2 came with the side stripes a different colour to the rest of the car.

Yeah old ones  and sonic shadows I suppose

Hurricane As most of mine need repainting im thinking of doing them the same colour as the wheels, what do you guys think of that?

A guy called jem on IMOC has just done similar, looks quite good from what you can see on this pic:

That's a bit of a pain in the **** on UK cars as they don't have the required loom behind the dash, and the door looms are different. Entirely doable though, just lots more work than on an import.
