Finished with Fleabay
I have managed to get rid of all my "junk" on Fleabay apart from a few laptop bits so tonight after a 2 month break from selling decided to sell these bits until it wouldn't allow me to charge for P+P.
I was going to sell 2 1GB memory cards with a 99p start no reserve and if they had sold for this the "free" postage would have cost me around £1.50 for Recorded Delivery ( not including packing and going to the PO) plus take off the Final value Fee and I make a LOSS of around 55p.
Complete cr*p!
It wouldn't let you charge for P&P ? Is this some sort of recent change ? I don't understand :confused1:
Oh I see, is it something to do with people trying to sell stuff cheap (and therefore pay less fees) but charge a load for postage (thereby making their money) ?
I doubt the memory cards would actually have sold for the 99p starting price though, would they, surely they'd go for more ?
thats correct, but the effect on the buyers was that if they had to claim if an item was defective, they only got the purchase price, excluding postage, so I can understand why ebay would introduce the restrictions, but they've gone a little too far with it, nothing is free to post unless the seller wants to pay for postage, but theres still a cost
I was reading through some of eBay's announcements looking for stuff on this, and couldn't fit it. But I did find something saying that PayPal Buyer Protection was extended now to cover postage cost as well ?
ah thats not too bad now then I guess, but still...
I bought a light cluster to replace my broken one and was misinformed about the colour and the seller wasn't interested, so I advertised it on ebay for £45 and my success fee was £4.54 and my listing fee was 40p, thats a £5 before paypal take their cut of £1.90, £7 out of a £45 sale
